On Redistribution of Wealth

Congratulations! You have been born into this life and as a consequence you have been enrolled in the University of Hard Knocks. A required course in your curriculum for a Bachelors Degree in Common Sense is Economics. You attend class zealously working much harder than most of your fellow classmates and look forward to a well deserved “A” at the end of the semester.

As the semester draws to a close, the professor announces that no one will be permitted to have an “A” in his course. He goes on to explain that far to many students have only performed marginally and that others have failed; therefore, so that the “C” students can have a “B” and the failing students can have a “C” your grade must be redistributed to a “B.” After all, he says, we are all part of the same class and they are entitled to their fair share of your labors.

The Democrats are always saying that those who have achieved success economically should “pay their fair share” to benefit the nation. The problem is however they never define what that fair share is. Mr. Biden says he will not raise taxes on you if your income is less than $400K. However, any thinking voter knows that if he cannot get the revenue needed for his programs, as outlined, he will have to lower this bar to $250K and possibly $100K because he will not change the program.

Free citizens are self-reliant and live in a Constitutional Republic protected by the Constitution and Bill of Rights. Citizens of a Welfare Socialist State are slaves, dependent on the State. Those who desire a Welfare Socialist State should consider the following: Any government that has the power to redistribute wealth under the guise of assisting the less fortunate, by plundering rather than protecting the property rights of its citizens, can and will eventually redistribute every citizen’s wealth – even your wealth. Why? Because there is always someone less fortunate than you!

It was William J. H. Boetcker who taught, “You cannot help the poor man by destroying the rich. You cannot lift the wage earner by pulling down the wage payer. You cannot help men permanently by doing for them what they can and should do for themselves.”

It is an irony of our history that those who struggled so long to be free of the chains of their plantation ancestors and indentured servitude have now chosen a path that will lead them back to dependency and the chains of slavery on a government plantation. There must be some cause, some good reason, why our Founding Fathers and our patriotic ancestors were so eager for Liberty then, and now We the People are eager for the servitude (slavery) of Socialism.
