On this Day of Remembrance for 11 September 2001, I have been reflecting on American History. I believe sincerely that we need to remember the sacrifices of ALL those who give their lives or lose their lives in the defense of Liberty and our way of Life. I believe we need to do this not just on their “special days” but everyday throughout the years. We the People do this when we daily live our lives in a manner that honors their great sacrifice.
There is a quote that goes something like, “Those who forget to learn from history are doomed to repeat it. As I reflected today, I began to wonder why it seems to take a national tragedy to arouse patriotism in our Constitutional Republic? Why is it that We the People seem to need a “Remember” slogan to unite the “United States.” “Remember the Maine.” “Remember Pearl Harbor.” Remember 9/11.”
I believe the majority of Americans, of ALL stripes, on both sides of the aisle love the Red, White and Blue, the Declaration of Independence and our Constitution. I believe it is the extremes on both the left and the right that cause our national division. Why, because they are or have big mouths and they have no aversion to opening them. They are only interested in what divides our Constitutional Republic and not what unites and unifies We the People.
The difficulty is that when they do this, they also denigrate the vast majority of Americans into silence because of political correctness or labels like racist, etc. The only effective remedy to this is for the majority of We the People to reclaim our First Amendment Right to free speech! Like a Patriot Guard, We the People need to rev up our voice and drown the extremists out!
- If you are a proud American – Speak Up! Speak Out! Silence the bullies, on the left and the right, who would divide our Constitutional Republic to destroy it.
- If you love the Red, White and Blue, Old Glory – Fly the Flag! Honor The Flag! Teach Respect for the Flag! Speak Up for the Flag!
- We the People also need to assert pressure on our elected representatives that if you want MY VOTE –You better put our Constitutional Republic before Party! You better learn the art of compromise and work across the aisle for the good of ALL America! You better be responsive to the needs of We the People before the needs of illegal aliens! There is NO end to the good that can be done if you don’t worry about who gets the credit.
Our Constitutional Republic is only as strong as We the People are ready to make it. If we allow the extremists to destroy our National Unit, We the People are at fault.
And I’m proud to be an American
Where at least I know I’m free
And I won’t forget the men [ones] who died
Who gave that right to me
And I’d gladly stand up next to you
And defend Her still today
‘Cause there ain’t no doubt
I love this land
God Bless the U.S.A.
May God Bless and Save the United States of America —
Our Constitutional Republic
